[Apple iPod] Resolved: Various odd problems associated with the newest iTunes

2 or 3 weeks ago I posted a couple of issues I was having with my 5G
60 gig iPod video versus iTunes 7.7.0. Some of the songs downloaded
from the iTunes store would not play in iTunes, one of those actually
crashed the iPod. Also, when syncing the iPod the iPod would dismount
as soon as the sync ended. I tried several things to try to resolve
the issue. First though I should mention that I run a Mac. OS 10.4.11.

Also I should mention that the thread I posted on this issue was taken
over by a lot of people saying "golly, I am not having any problems,
here." Not helpful, folks.

In fact, I knew that despite the fact that the latest iTunes was
causing problems for many, my particular problems were not mentioned
and this told me that the issue was something unique to my computer.

First I tried re-installing the iTunes update. No change. I then tried
the latest version, 7.7.1, but this did not make any difference for me
either.

I then thought that since I am running a couple of Haxies (including
the Rogue Amoeba one connected with Audio Hijack Pro) that this could
be the problem. I booted in "Safe Mode" but the problem persisted.

Finally I reapplied the combo updater for Apple OS 10.4.11 and this
did the trick.
