Re: [Apple iPod] i need mp3 convert into mp4

If you do a Google search for "convert avi to mp4 itunes" you will get about
562,000 hits although 99% of those will be useless.

There are a couple of freeware programs out there WinFF
http://www.winff.org/ is one and I am sure there are a few others but you
should remember the old saying you get what you paid for.

A couple or so years ago I was in the same boat as you and searched the
internet and downloaded and tried a dozen or so freeware and shareware
programs for converting different formats to be playable on the iPod. After
serious number of hours converting stuff I finally bit the bullet and spend
a few dollars on a commercial program. I found it was very much worth the $$
and I have been pretty happy with the ones I have purchased over the last
couple of years.

If you plan to download allot of stuff off the net for your iPod here are a
few suggestions.

If you want to capture streaming stuff:
Jaksta http://www.jaksta.com/ will download and convert for you. Great
company, excellent customer/tech support. Friendly folks to deal with.
Replay Media Catcher http://www.applian.com does a good job of capturing
streaming videos and music. Another good company with good tech support
although sometimes just a little bit slower to come out with updates for new
or changing formats but they are working hard and getting better at it.

Note:Capturing streaming video or music from the internet is legal as long
as it's for personal use only so these are not hacks or any kind of
copyright violation.

If you just want to convert:
My personal favorite for converting is Cucusoft http://www.cucusoft.com/
which does a fantastic job of converting most all video files to iPod
format. The conversion program is top notch with lots of features to allow
you to manipulate the conversion to your desires. The Tech support is so so
but fortunately I have not had to have allot of dealings with their tech
support. The program has been really rock solid.
Jaksta does have a convert option built into it so you can convert a file
you downloaded separate.
Replay Converter is also a good converter program and where Cucusoft seems
to fail in converting (because of differences in the format) Replay seems to
be able to convert but replay does not have as many options as Cucusoft.

Hope it helps.
