You probably can contact the radio supplier or Honda to get a special cable or just go to Radio Shack and get a cable where one end plugs into your headphone port on your iPod and the other end into the auxiliary port on the radio (which should look the same as the headphone port).

You would be able to play the iPod through the radio speakers but it would not charge it. The way you describe it it sounds like they may sell a special cable for that radio to control an iPod.

What is the radio model and brand?

Yes, it does and an electrical connection just above it. I don't know
what type of cable to buy to connect an iPod to this aux jack. I
understand it's some type of 30 pin cable.
