option under preferences to share your library.
I had thought the sharing of libraries was only for listening/playing and
then, as I recall, only non drm stuff. I didn't think the second computer
that is reading the shared library is able to download or sync anything only
play music through iTunes.
I am wondering, and I don't have a MAC so I don't know if the files are
formatted exactly the same as for the PC, if you set your library directory
up on a shared drive on your network then point both MAC and PC to that same
library and then when you add a file on the MAC side if you can just copy
the iTunes Library.itl file from the MAC to the PC.
I have done this in the past when I had 2 PC's sharing the same library. I
had my MyMusic directory on a network drive and I pointed both PC's to that
network drive location and then when I added a song or video on one PC I
only needed to copy the iTunes Library.itl file to the second PC.
