[Apple iPod] Download question

I have an Ipod Nano and I want to download audio books. Our library site
only allows downloads from PC's. I have my Itunes account on a Mac. I
downloaded a book onto my PC and then went to transfer it to my Ipod, but it
said that my Ipod needed to be reformatted for the PC. I was hesitant to do
that since I sync my Ipod to Itunes on my Mac. Would it hurt the Ipod to be
reformatted between PC & Mac??? Any suggestions???
