[Apple iPod] Converting Problems

After receiving a CD from a friend, I transfered the wma format songs
individually to my computer's harddrive. When attempting to insert them
in Itunes, I received an error message--ONE OR MORE OF THE SONGS BEING
ADDED ARE IN THE PROTECTED WMA FORMAT...COULD NOT BE CONVERTED. I have
not no problems converting wma audio files in Itunes until now. I
received the same error message when attempting to load the songs from
CD into Itunes. Anyone suggest a solution?
