'unknown error -3256 situation taken care of.
Since the hard drive on my desktop computer is only 80 GB, and I have an
iPod Classic with 160 GB, I decided I'd better use something else to store my
music files. I bought a 500 GB external hard drive that I use to store the
iTunes library. I was able to tell the iTunes software on my desk top to place
imported files on the external drive, but for the life of me, I can't
remember what I did. I'm now using a laptop to import music from CD's, but I can't
make iTunes place these files on the external drive. I've tried going into
Edit> Preferences> Advanced> General> iTunes folder location, and entering the
information for the external drive, but apparently that's not the correct
place to make the change.
What is the sequence to tell iTunes to put music files into a different
location?
Many, many thanks in advance,
Richard in Baltimore
