with layered cutout elements such as John Driedger has used in his
Reflections 2.0 theme, with motion you can do some really neat things
w panoramic images: such as have the image "expand" from left to
right into the panoramic - then focus on a specific element as the
left and right side of the photo move in to zoom in on whatever
component you want the audience to focus on. Not to long ago, John
posted a very nice demo on his site that is well worth looking at.
Wide screen has some real advantages as you can slow down the "flow"
of your talk (apparent speed with which transitions are made) -
simply because you have a much larger canvas to play with. However,
you need high end projection capabilities that maintain light
intensity; Worthwhile to check that your AV support can handle what
you are planning to present. Some even split the signal and
recombine it via multiple projectors on the screen. That can cause
potential alignment issues though.
