No problem. The "sleight of hand" as it were is in the fact that you're not using a single
image, you're using TWO.
Take your image, duplicate it, then move it back precisely over the original. One easy way
to do this is to hold down Shift as you press the up arrow then the left arrow. Now, find a
spot you want to highlight. Draw a circle around it. Then, select the shape and the image
and Mask the shape with the image. Now, you've got your "interest point" neatly separated
from the rest of the image, so you can have LOTS of fun now. Some things you can do
are...
1) Decrease the opacity of the background image leaving the interest point to stand out
2) Place a drop shadow behind it to make it stand out even more
3) For a halo effect, leave the background image at full opacity, add a shadow to the
interest point image, change it's offset to zero, change it's color to white, and you've got a
glowing highlight
4) Enlarge the interest point and place it inside the image of a magnifying glass for an
even more dramatic effect
And so on. If there's several points you want to highlight on one slide, just create a
separate masked image for each highlighted area.
