In other words, even if they ask in generic terms “how’d you like it?” They are not likely to want specific comments if they are not complimentary.
On the other hand, comment by example: your presentation. If he/she doesn’t see a difference and ask about it, your telling them that theirs was not good will not be heard regardless.
That is, don’t say anything if you value your friendship—what’s more important?
