Subject: [Apple iPod] restoring songs onto external drive from iPod
I'm sure this is a simple question, but I just don't know the answer.
Somewhere, somehow, putting songs onto my external drive has gone
wrong. I'm told by Apple people that this is common. Anyway, I
started out by putting all my iTunes music on my Mac, but needed to go
to an external drive for space, so I transferred everything to the
external drive. Some songs were lost when I deleted the songs from
the computer. So my library is missing songs it had originally.
Two things might help here: Virtually everything was loaded from my
personal CDs. Also, at least some of the missing music is still on my
iPod, where I put it from my external drive at one point.
So, I would like to know how to copy music back to my external drive
from the iPod (without losing anything on the iPod). I don't want to
sync anything, because I have way more music on the external drive
than the iPod can hold.
I don't think this is related, but I also am not able to access Grace
Note on my home computer when I load a new CD. It claims the song
names cannot be found. However, when I load the same CD onto my work
computer, it has no trouble finding the song names. How do I fix this?
Many thanks.
