[applekeynote] Re: iWork... doesn't

Thanks for taking an interest.

My copy of iWork '06 was supplied on a DVD, retail boxed and supplied
with a printed license code. It installed successfully on a Powerbook
and it was used there for two years or more.

I never upgraded beyond '06 because my laptop's OS was 10.3 - which
doesn't support later versions of Keynote, according to Apple's
documentation. I suppose a change to iWork '08 will solve my problem,
and I'm happy to make that purchase... but I'm surprised to encounter
this problem.

As an experiment, I went through the same installation procedure on
another copy of Tiger, this time on a 17" iMac instead of the
problematic Quicksilver G4... and it works perfectly. Deleting
everything from the Quicksilver and reinstalling doesn't help.

Strange but true! Now I'm just hoping that the most recent version of
Pages, Keynote and Numbers won't take a dislike to the G4.
