[applekeynote] Re: Interaction with dBase/CSV/list

Re: [applekeynote] Interaction with dBase/CSV/list

If nobody comes up with anything else (lots of skills here!) then....

Seems like a lot of work to go to so that the name can be put up - as
you'll need to enter (type in) EVERY entrant and their number,
instead of just typing the few winners (however slow your typing!).

However if you really want to do it perhaps entering the data into a
simple html web page listing would work? Create the list from the
tickets - only requiring you to put in ticket number and first &
surname in a columnar list, and have this single page prebuilt and
already linked to the Keynote presentation. When the draw is called
hit the link - which can be embedded in something appropriate and
exciting in the presentation and go to the page. Once into the web
page use the Firefox>Edit>Find-in this-Page command to go to the
winning entry number (or names) as they are called out. You'll do this
by entering the single digits one at a time.......

I'd prefer this number approach as this will add to the tension if you
have it arranged beforehand that the the drawer of tickets calls the
numbers out to you slowly - one digit at a time in keeping with your
keystroke entires which means everyone with a ticket starting 8 will
get excited, then 82 and 827, and 8278, and so on. The added drama
that this might allow would be a whole heap of fun for the audience.

Any use?
