I wasn't "told" anything... just got a "do not disconnect" window on
the iPod...
I had no idea what to do and was quite discouraged when I had to call
Tech Support... you would think that someone/thing could have let me
know what to do... I purchased books before buying; read the Apple
website, read the "instruction" booklet; talked to folks at the Apple
store - nothing, no one told me that it would have to be formatted.
After several frustrations of even getting my computer up and
running, you can imagine my discontent with yet another Apple product!
That said, I wouldn't trade my computer nor my iPod for PC based
products.
I appreciate your assessment on why iPods are formated for PCs -
makes a lot of sense - thanks!
