I have been having some of the same frustrations. I wonder if you too
are a Windows user and if you had a regular MP3 player before the ipod.
My ecperience is that the MP3 player really acted like drive. The
Ipod acts like a drive which is NOT controlled by Windows, but rather,
is controlled by Itunes, almost as if it were a separate operating system.
Am I warm? Does this sound like it might be part of the problem?
I'm having other things such as certain podcasts insisting upon
downloading to a playlist rather than to my podcasts folder - I've no
idea why and I can't move them successfully.
I also find that Itune thinks it has synced when it hasn't.
Unplugging the Ipod and replugging it works wonders!
OTOH - I'm growning very fond of the thing and of all that is
available on Itunes - despite it's quirks.
