[Apple iPod] FLV

hello,
i am Sreenath from India and recently i bought an ipod nano. I need to
know how to download .flv files to ipod. what i read from internet is
that first i need to convert .flv to mpeg and then download it to ipod.
is there any free .flv to mpeg converter or do i need to purhcase it
from somewhere?
