I did a simple copy (drag-and-drop) of my iTunes music folder to my desired destination.
Took three hours (174GB), but it worked. No problem whatsoever. Then redirected iTunes to
the new location. And no exclamations, either.

Thanks for the suggestion to do a copy rather than a consolidation, Kirk. Jay.
