Re: [Apple iPod] Anything other than iTunes Software?

Can iPods be updated to the latest software without using iTunes? I have used Winamp before with my iPod but I preferred iTunes. I'm not sure why people are against iTunes. I don't know - maybe I should give Winamp another shot if it will update my iPod.

The next computer I buy I think is going to be a Mac. I figure anyone that can come up with the iPod and is still fighting Microsoft with there operating system and gaining ground can't be all bad.

I think that a Mac might offer me more at home than a Windows computer with less hassle. I like the music aspect (Garage Band), the fact that it comes with everything right out of the box - at least it appears that way.

With my Windows machine, every time I have to get another one I spend hours finding all the programs again that I want to use. I'm hoping this is not the case with a Mac. Besides I have a Windows laptop at work so I know I won't miss it.

Any thoughts Mac users? (Sorry to get off topic).

Carl
