[Apple iPod] Broken earphone jack

Hello all,

My wife was using her Nano (old style) while touring Europe and she stuck in
headphones and the tip of the jack came off inside the Nano. All else works
well, but you can¹t put earphones in it.

She bought a new Nano and so now if I can figure out how to fix this, I have
a new nano for my use <grin>.

So the question is, how do open the nano to dig out the small tip without
damaging the unit?

ps: Apple replaces them for $79. But for that price, I¹d rather buy the
newer version. So I¹m hoping somebody can advise me on how to DYI.
