Yes, Griffin makes/made two models both called iTalk, a white one that connects to the top of Generations 3 and 4 and records in mono. A black one that connects to the bottom of the G5s and records in stereo. They have pass through outlets to either audit the recording or use an external mic, and tiny speakers for playback. I like my white one which isn't made any more. I sometimes use Griffin's Lapel mic to avoid hard drive sounds on the recording--looking forward to this technology on flash iPods.
Belkin also had at least one recording add on.
