I have an iPod Classic 80g and bought an Altec-Lansing Speaker/Charger specifically because it is very compact and folds nicely for travel. I brought it from Texas to UK.
I think the sound quality is very good, but the Classic doesn't doesn't exactly fit in the dock.
A Magic Marker placed behind the Classic works perfectly. It was much cheaper for me to buy it from Amazon (US) than from the local Texas stores. I don't know what Amazon UK would charge. If you have an APO.......but we have been through that already :p).

I have just bought my first iPod - Classic 160gb and am now looking to
buy an iPod Speaker Dock.
I would like something not too expensive ( of course! ) that has fairly
powerful speakers, is also portable, that can connect to my TV to show
both pictures & video.
Any advice would really be appreciated,
thanks,
