[applekeynote] Macworld 2008

Hi all,

As noted, I will be presenting on Keynote ("Presentation Magic") at
January's Macworld. As far as I know, it's the only seminar on our
favourite app. and it was accepted because the MD of Macworld, Paul
Kent, is a fan of my blog.

My intention is to do a presentation on the cognitive science behind
presenting (yes, Virginia, there is a science) and why Keynote is a
better match for the scientific principles than Powerpoint.

My guess is that Macworld expects me to show a lot of Keynote's
features. My effort will be to use Keynote and where useful, explore
how I created certain effects and why they are useful for conveying
information to the audience.

Now already I've received some new themes from some who've been active
members of this list, and I'll make an effort to incorporate them -
with a mention - where it fits.

But, if you've created what you think is a unique set of slides -
perhaps using effects you've not seen others use - I'm more than happy
to review it for possible inclusion, again with mention of who
creativity was at work. Of course, it rests with me as to what I use
or not.

You can use yousendit.com if the file is large, but really I'm after
perhaps a single slide, with multiple builds if you've created
something special.

Otherwise, is it too early to see who's going and if the list wants to
organise a small gathering at some time during the show. I present the
day after the Jobs Keynote at 12.15pm

best
