[Apple iPod] Multiple IPODS

Does anyone know if you can have multiple IPODS supported on your
computer. My wife has a 8gb Nano that she supports from her laptop.
She wants an 80gb IPOD for Christmas but only if she can control what
gets loaded onto which IPOD. Can this be done and if so, how?
