I appreciate everybody trying to help me get comfortable with it.
Special thanks to Elaine for showing patience and compassion.
I think what I dislike the most is iTunes. It is cumbersome. It
just doesn't work for me. With my other MP3 players, from folders
on Windows Explorer I was able to delete tunes and drag new
tunes to the SD Flash card, and be on my way. I can carry several
2 gig chips in a pocket and switch when I want and AAA batteries
are available everywhere.
iTunes makes work for me. It adds what it wants not what I want.
It is redundancy in spades, duplicating files and taking up
room on my machine, plus it is slow.
So, I will sell the iPod, take a hit, but figure it is a learning
experience
and never again buy anything with an Apple on it. I don't think my girl
friend
would be happy with iTunes either, she has less patience than I.
So thank you all and fare well.
Steve
P.S.
I think Apple designed the thing to favor their sales of tunes. They
weren't looking to
make it simple, they were looking to capture the audience and make more
money. I really
dislike that. For that same reason I don't have Quick Time or Real
player on my machine.
Good bye.
