[Apple iPod] A few questions...

My library files disappeared. As in GONE. (Music still exists
thankfully as on an external drive.) It was there, not it isn't.
I have it on a backup somewhere. Question is, where do I put it back?

I did the standard install for itunes, so I want to find the files and
just copy them over to ??? (itunes?? or My Doc's??? or ???) Also, what
are the file extensions?
