Yes, that would really be a big help. I also would like to be able to start a sound or movie file by clicking on an icon or something on a slide, like in Powerpoint. If I am not mistaking, sounds in Keynote are either starting automatically with a new slide or can be activated by a general click. 

Concerning new transitions: am I the only one who saw a few new ones in Steve's Keynote Speech? I guess, they will be in the next version.
