[Apple iPod] Re:iPod Newbie---please be tolerant

What you really need to do is create some Smart
Playlists.

When you set one up you tell it what to look for and
it
automatically selects from the music library.

For example, if you have the entire Beatles back
catalogue
on your iPod you could set up a Smart Playlist to
select
music by artist and type in 'Beatles' which will put
all
their songs in that playlist. If this is not selective
enough,
you can set it up by album name so typing 'Revolver'
will
give you all the tracks on that album but nothing
else.
If it is a long title such as 'Sergeant Pepper's
Lonely Hearts
Club Band' you can shorten it. Just 'Pepper' will
probably
be enough provided you have no other albums with
pepper
in the title.

There are lots of other choices to select by such as
composer
or genre, Once you have decided how you want your
Smart
Playlist to make it's selections it just does it,
instantly. When
you add new songs suitable for that playlist they
automatcally
appear ther.

Enjoy your iPod.

Cheers,
John
