Reason I asked about whether your problem podcasts are through iTunes is
all my podcasts that I get throguh iTunes go into the podcast folder and
show up as podcasts on my iPod Classic.
Those I get through other sources, such as directly from a program site,
show up in the music listing. I can find them easiest by looking for the
artist.
Same thing happens with audiobooks. Those I buy from iTunes go into
audiobooks just fine. Those I buy from other sources, or copy from my
CDs -- even though I put them in the audiobooks folder, show up as music.
It's frustrating, but it's another trick to make sure we all understand
that Apple Rules.
Actually, it's a page from Microsoft's playbook, capitalizing on the
idea that users will take the easiest way out -- anything that's
pre-installed likely will stay installed and used, rather than the user
doing what needs to be done to make them third-party stuff work. Those
podcasts and audio books can be converted to list properly, but it's a
multi-step, time-consuming process. (And once you learn about playlists
and searching for artists, the conversions are pretty much not worth the
effort.)
