Re: [applekeynote] Web Presentation

Thanks. I'll try it again tomorrow. Maybe I need to learn more about this. I "opened" the KN presentation w/ the "open" tool. It went through some conversion process before it was available. Perhaps I can use the screen sharing feature to get the transitions.

I didn't lose any builds. Even the transitions worked but were so slow for some attendees that they lost their effect.  Note that I didn't have any problems on my computer, the slowness and poor quality was on the viewers' computers, not mine.  KN worked as normal at my end.

I did need a fast Internet connection at my end.

Not sure I understand. I tried w/ KN and what I got was the slides w/no transitions. All builds on each slide were lost. I have some slides with 10+ builds. If I convert to PDF, I lose the transitions, but not the builds. Did I miss something?

That makes sense, but all I do is use KN itself and no conversion to anything else. The big advantage is that I'm familiar with KN and so its a lot easier to use.

This helps. Thanks. In my experiments, if I convert the KN to PDF, then bullet points build on the slides, but w/ out transitions. Does that make sense?

Hi Tim

I've done a number of WebEx presentations and they worked well except that the transitions in Keynote didn't work for all participants. Unless everyone is on very fast broadband, they look terrible so I learned it was best to remove them for the presentation. After doing that the presentations went very well. They didn't have the 'wow' features of a live Keynote presentation, but I reasoned that the message was the key thing.

Anyone here ever create a presentation to present via a webinar? I've
been experimenting with WebEx, which is pretty cool. You can combine a
live video feed, interactive video/audio, and desktop sharing. You can
also share KN and PP presentations. Problem is all transitions are
lost. I'm trying converting to QT, but the file gets too huge. It
appears that attendees would be downloading the QT video too. I don't
really want that. Anyone have any experience creating presentations
for this new medium and want to share some tips?
Thanks in advance.
