A tip from MacOSXhints.com suggests opening
Keynote preferences and *enabling* "Allow
Exposé..." - this seems counterintuitive, as the
checkbox gives a warning that it could adversely
affect animations and video, but on some systems
it apparently helps.
David's suggestion re: closing other programs is
a good one, but to go further: if you can swing
it, up the RAM in your Powerbook. Keynote loves
RAM....
