Can you cut it up into 4 or 5 pieces and then put builds on them. Each coming in after the other?

Yes Tim, I have done that - you just make a LONG single sentence textbox and build it in - if you have blank space at the end, it will look as if it leaves the screen. However, remember that Keynote effect have timing built into them. Starts slow, gradually faster- then slower again: That is one of the things that makes it look so much better than PPT.
