Thanks Kirk. I have that one checked. The check box on the 'Advanced >Burning' tab says 'Use Sound Check' - that's checked as well.

Adding that info has no effect on the files either, unless the
Soundcheck option is on. In other words, the fact the info is there
means nothing in and of itself.<<
OK - so back to my original question, I guess there is no way I can set iTunes to convert tracks at a higher volume level?
