Nicole,

1. Install iTunes if you haven't already done so. If you have a Mac it
will already be there.

2. Start iTunes and make sure you have the settings you want in
Preferences > Advanced > Importing. OK that window.

3. Load a CD. iTunes will offer to import it, or do it automatically
of you have set the appropriate pref in (2). This takes a few minutes
per album, depending on your optical drive and CPU speed.

4. Connect your iPod. iTunes will sync all your music by default. If
you want to transfer (sync) only a few songs, change to manual or sync
only selected playlists.
