[Apple iPod] dead?

i was listening to my ipod earlier today... the battery was almost full
(about 80%), then i shut it off. it's now 6 hours later and it has yet
to charge or turn back on. it doesn't show up in my itunes so i can't
reset it, and it won't respond to any button presses (no, it's not on
hold). It just doesn't make sense that i put it into a neverending sleep.
what is wrong with it? is there some way to fix it? It's a nano, if that
helps.

thanks,
Jordan
