[Apple iPod] Anthing available "better" than iTunes?

Hi,

I have just bought the iPod Classic 160gb model and am having alot of
problems moving both music and video files into iTunes ( using latest
version 7.6 )

All of my music & video files are on my PC in folders within Windows
Explorer ( XP ), are all named with ARTIST then SONG, have all been
converted correctly but when I transfer these to iTunes most of them
are not listed in the same way as the original files.

I have transferred nearly 1000 songs which are all named correctly on
my PC but over 200 are shown in the iTunes library with hardly any
info at all.

For Example:

PC windows explorer - MP3 file Named as..."WESTLIFE - MY LOVE"
ITunes library only shows under NAME " AudioTrack 22" and when I
right click > get info it shows against "Where" all the original
info, not only the song details but also where on the PC the file is.

When I then go into the "Info" option I cannot even edit this, all
the fields are grayed out!!

Can anyone please explain, why?.... am I doing something wrong?...

Even if I could I don't want to edit 200 songs before I can transfer
to the iPod.

Is there anything "better" available?

My apologies for being so long winded, I really hope someone can help.

Many thanks & regards,
Brian ( UK )
