[applekeynote] TED and Keynote

Hi all,

Many of you know about TED and perhaps use some of the videos in your
own trainings.

It's on again right now, and my mate Garr Reynolds (Presentation Zen)
is attending, so I'm sure I'll have some interesting things to pass to
the group once it's over.

But on Nancy Duarte's blog, she writes that TED commissioned her group
to assist TED speakers with their presentation design. I'm guessing
we're going to see a lot more Keynote in action once the videos start
rolling in...

Here's her URL: http://blog.duarte.com/2009/02/duarte-ted/

Also, I gave an all day workshop yesterday to Seventh Day Adventist
ministers and youth leaders, using Day 1 of my Macworld Powertools as
a basis.

This is a VERY conservative group, so much that one came up during a
break after I'd discussed the evolution of the brain to "remind" me
that the group consists of "radical creationists" who believe in a
literal interpretation of The Bible - ie, evolution is a crock. I
almost stopped and trotted out Bill Meaher's Religilous to get some
interesting conversation going, but held back on that impulse.

BUT at the end of the day, many came up (75 in attendance) and said,
"You didn't use Powerpoint, did you?" and "Is your program only for
the Mac?" I think I created about a dozen new Mac users... this was a
combination of Keynote 08 and 09 slides, but I suppose if you're a
long time Powerpoint user it may likely look like Keynote 15, it's so
far ahead of what they're used to seeing and doing.

When I come up for air from other projects (my work has been
discovered back home!) I'll blog about it and Macworld 2009.
