Re: [applekeynote] How did they do that - Quiz 1

Maybe this does not need to be spoken with such an on the ball group, but...

Just another thought, I wish people would think of their elements as if they ARE people.

Unless you are married to them, how do you feel when others are 6 inches away from you? They are in your space and you are thinking, "gees, this person is way too close". When I see elements crowding each other such as in this piece, It makes me feel for those poor text boxes.

Point: Give your elements their space, Text should pretty well NEVER be close to the edge of a slide.

Hi all,

As I'm putting together my Powertools for Macworld, I've been making arrangements with developers for use of their materials as part of the workshop. A few Europeans already on board!

I don't won't to get too caught up with "Gee Whiz" stuff a la Powerpoint Live! But...

Occasionally on the web I come across stuff where I look at an obvious Keynote demo and say, Well done! Hadn't thought of that, how would I reproduce it, and in the least number of mouse clicks.

So just in case one day we do have a Keynote live, and a section called "Gee Whiz" here's one on YouTube I found, reproduced, and embellished which I might include.

How would you achieve this efficiently, and do you agree that in the context in which it appears it's quite effective:

Watch it all the way through, or just go to 1:25' after the words, "Hang on, that will take an eternity" to see how the years are introduced.

There are quite a few faults with the piece – too many words early on, instead of grabbing attention with pics. And the use of copyright music, but who's not guilty of that! ;-)

But interesting to see how others use Keynote.

With interest
