Somewhat related: I note that MacBook Air only offers video mirroring.
I assume that means you can't get a presenter view up on your own
screen? There were patches for the iBooks to overcome this limitation,
if I remember rightly. I assume that the the plastic MacBooks (and
therefore the Air) have this same limitation, and are therefore ripe
for a patch?

Not true. I bought a MacBook Air as soon as they were available. I use it constantly and I love it! I use presenter notes (Turn off mirroring) in boh PPT and Keynote. It works just fine!
