Ok. If they are all from CD's then of-course there is no DRM or protection.

How are you determining that you have songs missing from the iPod? In other
words where are you getting the numbers from?

If you select the Shuffle Songs from the iPod main menu it shows how many
songs are available for playing. If you use that number then is it possible
that some of your songs have the Do Not Include in Shuffle option checked?
