Re: [Apple iPod] New iPod & Sync Problem...

You didn't say where the mp3's came from.

It's possible that some of them have some type of protection that are
preventing them from loading on your iPod.

Some of the internet download sites, although recently they have been
changing their policys to complete with Apple iTunes, have some type of
protection or DRM on them and will not load on your iPod.

One way you can check is to take one of the MP3's that will not load on your
iPod, copy it, and load it into a MP3 editor such as Wavepad
http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html then try and edit and save that
file and see if it saves. If it doesn't then it likely has protection of
some kind on it.

Another thing you can try is see if you can convert the file to AAC format
via iTunes. Right click on the file and select convert to AAC. If it
converts then try loading that AAC file on your iPod.

If you do find that these files are protected you can try burning them to a
Audio CD. If they burn to a Audio cd with no problems then try ripping the
CD back into your iTunes library and see if those will sync to your iPod.
