podcasts would not show. As others said (thanks of course) I needed to do a
restore. Unfortunately this led to other problems. The iPod's battery would
crap out partly through the restores, which would crash the application. At
first I thought that the problem was that my Mac Book Pro was not supplying
enough juice to get the job done. Then I thought the USB to Port cable was
bad. I tried a powered hub and a new cable, still it crashed. This happened
even with a full charge (I have close to 10,000 songs on it).
I finally got it done by interrupting the sync process part way through by
clicking the little "x" on the right half of the status bar. I then
recharged the iPod and then continued the sync.
BTW- that status bar alternates "Syncing the iPod" (or similar) with the
progress report. It is very annoying. I wish it would just say the progress.
there is no preference to set for that behavior. Grrrr.
