It would be good if iTunes included an option to back up to external
hard-drive. IMO CD/DVD is quite inadequate for the data volumes involved in
most libraries (roughly 10 albums per CD, 60 per DVD).
I would argue that any computer user should be doing regular backups of
*all* their files anyway, and iTunes Music would be included by default.
This doesn't explain why Apple would go to the trouble of providing a backup
function but then omit the obvious hard-drive option. I wonder if this is
because of restrictions in copying files bought from the iTunes Store?

Time Machine, Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper on the Mac?
