[Apple iPod] Possible corruption of MP3 and MP4 files

Question: if I download mp3/mp4 files from Apple I-tunes, and they appear to be corrupt, there is nothing I can do, right?  The files cannot be repaired.  Is that correct?  I'm out of the money, I just spent?
I have two mp4 files...TV shows, that I recently downloaded, and both stop, at a certain point, and the screen (I-touch) reverts back to the icon screen.I have tried running them several times, but they stop.  I notice that when they go to download on the I-Touch, these files take forever, and do not appear to copy all the way.
Thanks,
Matt
