[Apple iPod] loading a movie on iPod Classic

I have a 30gig iPod and I want to put a movie on it. But the place
where you are supposed to "sync movie" is all greyed out. Anybody
know what to do here? Also, the photo page is greyed out so I can't
import individual photos. Help?
