[Apple iPod] Compilations

I have two questions or problems regarding songs or collections that
are tagged as being part of a compilation.

1. On my IPod I have the settings selected so that artists with songs
that are part of a compilation do show up in my overall list of
artists. While many of the artists do show up, there are also many
others that do not even though the songs are indeed listed as part of
a compilation. Has anyone had experience with this problem, or am I
doing something wrong?

2. Is there any way to see what songs are part of compilations in
ITunes without having to go to "Get Info"?
