refurbished model from Apple. The iPod you're describing is the HP
iPod (for some period of time, HP sold co-branded iPods). I think it's
the equivalent of the iPod Photo, also known as the Color iPod. I
don't recall how old it would be but a least three years. That means
you're looking at a really old battery. Replacing a dying battery will
cost you about $30, I think, if you do it yourself, more if you send
it off.
If you buy one from Apple, it would be an iPod with Video and it would
be in like new condition with an Apple 1 year warranty.

Best of luck.
