Backup to CDs or DVDs
You will need a few (!) discs unless you have a very small music library,
and for the same reason a USB flash drive is likely to be far too small.
The bottom of the iTunes main window shows you the number of songs, total
time, and space used.
I suggest you back up your iTunes music as part of your main computer
backups.
