I had a
60GB video iPod then. The battery pack was one that holds 4 AA cells
and has a little cable that loops to the bottom. It nominally suction cups
to the back of the iPod although that part doesn't work if the iPod is in
a leather case. :-) So I took the cups off (easy -- and can be put back
on).
I forget the brand, but its quite identifiable if seen. Has a battery check
button with four or so LEDs giving battery level. As I recall it ran my
iPod in *video* mode for almost exactly that for which it was rated, and
that was something like 5 hours. Which means it'll do audio mode "forever".
Didn't have to change batteries on the 11 hour leg (or the following 2 hour
leg).
