I just did a test with an mpeg4 and it played fine. What format are  

your movies?

it seems to affect some quicktime.mov codecs only, this was an old one: "sorensen", but H264 doesn't work either, I didn't test other ones.

All external codecs as wmv, divx, etc. are working  according to apple forum users

If mpeg4 does it, that's good news.

In the future, I'll be more cautious with updates.
