Nice. Dry. Quick to put together.
I lived using the 6 x 6 rule and did quite fine, thank you.
Then came Keynote.
At first, it was just Powerpoint with better graphics and really neat transitions.
Then came Keynote 2, 3, and now 4/08.
Because Keynote is so much easier to use than Powerpoint, I've started to do more.
Presentations? Hah! Works of art.
Scour the internet for sounds and images to better exemplify the information I'm sharing.
Dropped jaws instead of yawns.
People focused on me and the screen instead of the clock and the door.
Now I do more with more precision.
And it's damn fun, too.
So I keep doing more.
Suddenly, a quick presentation that should have taken a few hours to throw together takes
a few days to become not just a throw away, but an amazing accomplishment.
So I'm doing stuff faster, but I'm also doing more. Lots more. And that takes more time.
Lots more time. I mean, LOTSSSSSSSSSSS more time.
Sure, the results are worth it, and I love the result.
Sure, the people I share with love the results.
But because I want to do such a good job--and because with Keynote I CAN do a great
job--it's taking more time. LOTSSSSSSSS more time.
I'll even plan things out and then, while working with the design I start thinking, "It would
be kewl if I could add this or that." And because Keynote is easy, I can add this or that.
So the results are great, people love it, and I love doing it.
But it's taking up so much time to create such great stuff.
Where is my time?????
I hate Keynote.
